Weight: 352 g (size US 9)
Upper: ProtecPU/FRS Textile/PU/TPU
Lining: Quick dry mesh
Midsole: Light EVA with TPU stabilizer
Outsole: Rubber with 16 carbide tip studs
Light and extremely well gripping trail shoe with excellent running feeling.
A low and narrow midsole profile keeps the runner close to the ground with full control. A 3D flow moulded exo-skeleton cage supports and embraces the foot maintaining its’ position over the midsole during intense activity. The rubber sole of Pytho2 is now in one piece covering the entire midsole, a protection and durability up-grade.
The long lasting carbide tip studs have dynamic function, which means that apart from excellent trail and ice traction, they can also be used for asphalt running.
Features:
- Highly durable non-absorbing upper materials
- Thin gusset to keep debris out
- Flow mould structure keeps lacing exact when shoe gets wet
- Squish™ and Bouncy™ cushioning system for comfortable touch down and responsive take off
- Slim midsole profile for optimal ground control
- Extra stud added below arch
BUGrip® is the name of Icebug's grip technology. A BUGrip sole is made of a special rubber compound and has 15-16 integrated steel studs (sketch 1). The design of the studs together with the properties of the rubber compound give these studs a dynamic function. The studs work independently from each other and are not completely fixed. When weight is applied the studs push in toward the surface of the sole. How far they are pushed in, depends on the pressure exerted by the user and the resistance from the ground.
SMART STUDS
The dynamic function makes the studs adapt to the surface and provide the best possible traction. That's why we call them "Smart Studs":
- On slippery surfaces (for example ice, snow, mud, wet wood and grass) the studs remain protruding and "grip" the ground.
- On hard and solid surfaces (like asphalt or concrete) the studs are pushed in toward the sole's surface.
- On hard and uneven surfaces (for example stones and rocks) some of the studs are pushed in, while other remain protruding. The effect being that a combination of rubber and steel studs make contact with the ground.
The studs that are used in the BUGrip Technology are reinforced with carbide steel tips, for extra durability. The BUGrip Technology is protected by several international patents.
CAUTION
Products with BUGrip® are not recommended for indoor use, since they can damage floors and the risk of slippering may increase on some surfaces. Icebug does not guarantee that one never slips when using products with BUGrip®.
